so while i am not necessarily a "prepper" we do live in the shadow of Rainier. i am less worried about NBC than i am about breathing in ash and having my lungs turn to concrete as i drown on dry land (yeah i know, slim chance). i work 68 miles from the house so it will be a long walk. i am just planning on placing a piece of panty hose over the intake to filter the larger stuff and extend the life of the cartride if it comes to that. i feel the 2 mask kit was a good value. i am a little surprised if these are Isreali masks as to thier lack of forward thought. i realize these are "civi" rated masks, but since the filter is a front screw on, i would have expected that the drinking tube would be on the left check so as not to preclude a proper attempt at a cheek weld on a stock. i have spent my time in and out of masks and full suits over many years at home and abroad and this is not a discussion of proper NBC shooting techniques. it is only to illustrate that the Isrealis in my contact/experience think these things out to the nats ..... so just be aware if you do get this and think that the triangular eye cups are going to give you a better "view" than the round cups, you may still have an issue. on a positive note, they did prepare for people with eye glases and the nose bridge has provisions for inserting glasses on posts. i feel this may be a much better solution than the spring wire clasps that i had to deal with back in early 90's.
