For years I've bought my router bits one at a time, usually the "premium" brands that use orange or white paint on them. A few weeks ago, I broke 2 identical �" shank white bits on a simple, shallow, slow-feeding operation. They snapped off right where the shaper meets the shank. I'd had a few others break in preceding months. I also got tired of sorting through a cabinet of bit boxes for every routing operation. I decided it was time to get a set of low-cost bits, and just replace them with something that's not orange or white as they wore out.
These bits are low-cost, but not cheaply made. The bits I've used worked cleanly, and kept a good edge. I don't expect them to stay sharp as along as a premium bit, but for the price, they are an excellent value. The box is excellent for organization, and can easily be wall-mounted.
If you're a new woodworker, I recommend you invest in this set. For a small investment, you'll get most of bits you'll need, except for specialty (e.g. door frame and panel) bits. Veteran woodworkers should like these too. I haven't had a problem with them yet, and will look to MLCS the next time I need router bits.
