Its seems to be getting harder and harder in finding dependable tools that can hold their own. That is especially true with drills. Like any other guy, I jumped at the opportunity to take this Bosch kit for a test drive. After a little over four weeks use, these are my thoughts.

Out of the box, this kit comes ready packed in a rectangular nylon case with (1) 1/2" hammer drill/driver, (1) 1/4" hex impact driver, (2) 18 volt lithium batteries, (1) charger, and instructions. The carrying case is embossed with the embroidered logo of Bosch. The case is average at best and doesn't include dividers or compartments. Bosch tacks on a three year warranty for the power tools. The batteries carry a two year warranty.

The batteries that came with this kit were ready to go to work. The first time I used these drills was in building a new wooden shed for my lawn equipment. Juiced with a surprisingly powerful 18V lithium battery pack, its full throttle from the start to finish. The 1/4" hex driver easily held its own in even the tightest spaces. The 1/2" hammer drill powers up at two speeds from 500 to 1700 RPM. Maximum torque is 600. It definitely showed up when I needed that extra boost.

Ergonomically both tools are hard to put down. Neither one of these tools can be called lite weights. Right off the bat, the power sold me on these guys. Thanks to the on board LED lighting I didn't have to worry about shadowing or poor visibility. The single handed loading feature is sweet. The attached belt clips are sturdy and have enough closure to hang on my belt without sliding.

Since the shed job I've used these tools for assembly and breaking down displays and rigging. Both drills see action in the garage. Overall, I'm very impressed with this Bosch power tool kit. Without a doubt, these are quality tools built for durability and endurance. I know for me personally, they have been work horses.
