Product Description

In the age of sail, officers were expected to fight right alongside common deckhands. An officer never made his choice of weapon recklessly when he knew he to had to fight hand to hand to repel boarders. The clear choice was a Spadroon as his primary edged weapon. It was lighter than a cutlass, offered a long, stiff blade, was imminently suitable for thrusting, and had a sharp edge capable of delivering a stinging cut. Original antique Spadroons are quite scarce, and far too valuable to use as actual weapons, but luckily you can get a Cold Steel reproduction. Loosely modeled on historical examples, our Spadroon has been hardened to a spring temper, and fully sharpened, it's capable delivering a fearsome cut as well as a lethal thrust. It's handsome too, with a multi ridged faux ivory grip and a gorgeous brass hilt replete with the requisite five ball counter guard and knuckle bow. Not to be outshined, the scabbard is equally impressive. It's fashioned from rich black leather, and hand stitched, and comes with a mirror polished, solid brass chape, throat, and carrying rings.

Good sword, stiff blade very point oriented more then some histrorical spadroon. Well balanced beautiful gaurd, Though my only issue with the blade is the sharpening job though it is a lethally sharp tip. But has left grind marks that are not well finished but with a little effort can be buffed out and refinnished. Otherwise it is a good blade well worth the price.

The Fowler Shockproof stainless steel dial caliper has dial graduations of 0.001" or 0.02mm with 0.001" and 0.02mm accuracy, shockproof anti-backlash control, a sliding jaw with a lock, and a covered rack. This caliper is used for measuring inside dimensions (ID), outside dimensions (OD), depth, and step.

Shockproof spring anti-backlash control with a heavy-duty spring offers increased accuracy over standard gear configurations. Backlash is the amount of clearance between mated gear teeth in the caliper controls that prevents the gear teeth from jamming. It is undesirable to have much backlash due to the lack of precision offered by the increased amount of play between gears. Certain gear designs can minimize or eliminate backlash; spring anti-backlash systems use a spring to add a compressive force, thereby minimizing backlash.

This caliper has a knurled lock screw to hold the sliding jaw in position and help ensure a consistent measurement. A covered rack prevents dirt and debris from clogging the gear, and helps prevent measurement errors. A thumb-operated fine adjustment roller allows for one-handed use.

The caliper measures 0.10" or 2mm per revolution of the dial. The dial has 0.001" or 0.02mm graduations, and the beam has engraved 0.1" or 1mm graduations. The hardened stainless steel components, including the bar, measuring surfaces, rack, gears, and depth rod, offer corrosion resistance, increased accuracy, and long life. Self-contained movement eliminates gear misalignment, while the dual pinion drive mechanism reduces wear on the rack and pinion. An adjustable dial enables setting zero. The hardened stainless steel is polished to a satin chrome finish, to help prevent glare. This caliper comes with a fitted case.

Dial calipers are measuring instruments commonly used for inspection in manufacturing to provide the precise measurements of an object. A pair of jaws attached to a long beam with a marked scale is used to measure inside, outside, and step measurements in standard or metric units. An additional depth probe slides along the beam to take depth measurements. One jaw is fixed to the end of the scale, while the other jaw slides along it to take measurements. A circular dial indicator is fixed to the movable jaw on a toothed gear rack that transfers movement of the jaws to the dial needle. Compared to digital calipers, dial calipers are more durable, but are more susceptible to shock damage and prone to getting dirt in the gears, which can cause accuracy problems. Vernier calipers are more durable than dial calipers because they do not have internal moving parts, but they can be more difficult to read. Dial calipers are commonly used in fields such as metalworking, mechanical engineering, machining, and carpentry.

Don't spend the extra for the features on this piece of Chinese-made garbage. I'm sure this is the same motor and basic tool as the Porter Cable and other similar grinders that you can get for much less, and I'd buy one of those and spend the difference on couple of nicer stones if I knew then what I know now. The toolless change mechanism on mine is so badly made I have to get a pair of pliers out to lift up the little tabs. I might as well just use a wrench on a nut! And the thing vibrates like crazy. There's a very narrow little flange machined into the shaft, with a stamped washer that seats on it. The small imprecision in the washer and the poor machining of the flange mean the stones wobble side to side about 1/8", and there's nothing simple I can do to make it stop. Sadly, I'm too lazy to ship it back to Amazon, and there isn't really anything out there that's better until you spend twice as much, so I'll probably machine up some parts to improve the situation.

Careful when you use it cause it can shock your wrist. Makes my framing days alot faster when I am build a new home. It's very light and small enough to get into tight spots. I like how safety works on it. And loading is pretty nice too. This gun is worth having if you frame alot houses or build alot decks. Time it saves is worth the cost. Would buy again.
