Likely the best priced multi-metal gauge i found. I primarly use it to check for body filler in vehicles i buy at auctions and so far it has performed well. It has more features and accuracy than i need, but the ones that dealer supply stores sell are more expensive and offer less features. Anyway, the only things i found to mention to the contrary is the base that rests against the metal/paint is not rubber coated so care must be taken to not scratch the finish. Nothing a tissue or thin rag wouldn't fix though. Also it doesn't like to be rushed into multiple readings too quickly. Take your time and all works well. Lastly, it's of a nice size, not too big and fits easily in a pocket. It does not come with a tether or means to attach one, nor does it come with a small case to attach it to your belt, something that may not mean much to a lab or for scientific purposes, but for a car dealer, it would make it easier to have both. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Reed ST-156 Coating Thickness Gauge, 0 to 1250 Micrometer Range" are high quality item.
