After using the i7 for about two weeks, I ended up returning it. I simply could not justify the $1995 price. First of all this has the highest resolution among the three models; i3, i5 and i7 but even at this 'high' resolution, because the camera keeps on auto-focusing, all the time the color related to the temperature keeps changing.
Plus the range of measurement is low so for a good reading or image you need to be no more than 10 feet away from an object, anything more the scan will get skewed.
It also boils down to what you really want to do, for checking heat sources from a distance or in hiding, get a Flir Scout.
